KAMPALA<br>-Mass murder: Walusimbi, a suspected serial killer, murdered eight women and robbed 13 others whom he used to lure with lifts in the night. He was charged in the High Court.<br>-Bank theft: Staff of Standard Charted Bank stole sh1.5b.

-Mass murder: Walusimbi, a suspected serial killer, murdered eight women and robbed 13 others whom he used to lure with lifts in the night. He was charged in the High Court.
-Bank theft: Staff of Standard Charted Bank stole sh1.5b.
-Riot: On November 7, students of Makerere University rioted, demanding that their striking dons should go back to classes. A lot of property was destroyed in and around Wandegeya, leading to some students being arrested.

CENTRAL
Entebbe
-Defilement: Pastor William Muwanguzi defiled Violet Namaganda aged 13.
-Adultery: A diplomat, John Ngarambe, was found “flagranto delicto” committing adultery with a married woman. He was not jailed because of his diplomatic immunity.

Masaka
-Rape: In Bigasa sub-county, Vitaleo Muwanga, 20, raped Tereza Nyakabugo aged 90 and later killed her. Accused arrested and taken to court.

Rakai
-Defilement: At Rwakatama village in Rakai F. Kabigumira, 22, defiled his four-year-old daughter. Accused charged, pending trial.

EASTERN
Mayuge
-Mass murder: a husband poured petrol on the main hut of his estranged wife and set it on fire killing his five children and injuring the wife seriously.

Tororo
-Defilement: A 70-year- old pastor defiled his grand-daughter aged 13 years. The suspect is detained in prison pending trial.

Moroto
-Ambush: On January 12, unidentified Karamoja warriors ambushed a truck Reg.No. UAE 695L, shooting five cattle traders dead. No arrest was made.
-Ambush: On January 25, at 11:00pm at Katokon in Moroto, unknown Karimojong warriors ambushed motor vehicle Reg. No.UAF 387G Isuzu and shot two people to death.

WESTERN
Kasese
-Mass murder: A UPDF soldier from the 21st Battalion went on rampage and shot one soldier, two special Police constables and three other people dead. Suspect was Court-martialed and sentenced to Death.

Kamwenge
-Defilement: kyalikunda, a female juvenile, was gang-raped by three people and hanged from a tree. The suspects were later arrested.

Masindi
-A ranch in Kiryandongo was attacked and one woman and three girls shot and hacked to death. The perpetrators disappeared. Motive not established.
-A parent at Kiryandongo, Richard Ayella, hacked his two juvenile sons to death using a panga and dumped the bodies in the forest at Murchison Falls Park. Bodies were recovered and suspect arrested.
-Unknown people set fire to the main hut housing the family of Quito Ovoya, killing him and five of his family members. Motive not established.

Hoima
-Defilement: Yowabu Byagirwa, 72, defiled his grand daughter of fivemonths. Accused was detained in prison.

Ibanda
-Bank theft: On March 7 at Ibanda town, unknown thieves broke into ISSIA Bank and stole sh89m. Suspects disappeared, un-identified.

NORTHERN
Arua
-Arson: The house of Hon. Eriyo Jessica, then MP candidate, was burnt down as revenge for the death of her rival Clara Vuni who died in a motor accident during campaigns.
-Escape: On February 25, there was a mass escape of 408 inmates from Arua Central Prison. A total of 260 of the escapees have been re-arrested to date.

Adjumani
-Escape: On March 12, there was another mass escape of 60 inmates from Openzini Central Government prison. Only 10 have been re-arrested so far.

Moyo
-Theft of firearms: On July 27 at Lofori police post and detachment. Four guns were stolen by four suspects. Guns were recovered and the suspects arrested after an operation.
