ST Peters College Tororo has got a new classroom block and science laboratory through funds raised by the Old Boys and the Mill Hill missionaries. The commissioning of the building also marked the reunion and celebrations of St. Peter’s Day.

The Vaughan dormitory was also renovated with funds from the Mill Hill Missionaries with help from Fr. James Fanning.

Prof. Charles Olweny, the Uganda Martyrs University vice-chancellor, who commissioned the new projects recently, urged students to always look out for universities with the best reputation regarding quality and innovation.

He asked students to look out for institutions with the brightest first year students, the smallest classes, access to a full-time faculty and the richest library resources.

“The right choice can only be found after analysing the various universities’ structures and teaching resources,” he said. Olweny awarded certificates of recognition to the best teachers and Old Boys.

The J’opadhola cultural leader, Tieng Adhola, one of the oldest of the Old Boys, urged his colleagues to be united wherever they are and to always remember their school. He later led others to a tree planting exercise.

Hundreds of old boys attended the function and several of them gave words of inspiration to the students.

Tororo Auxiliary Bishop the Rt. Rev Charles Wamika, led the re-union prayers that also saw several children get confirmed.
