THE Chief of Military Intelligence, Col. Leo Kyanda, on Thursday said he did not build in the road reserve at Kira Road roundabout

THE Chief of Military Intelligence, Col. Leo Kyanda, on Thursday said he did not build in the road reserve at Kira Road roundabout, writes Fortunate Ahimbisibwe.

Kyanda said he acquired the property in 1995 and the fence has never been extended.

“It is misleading to say that I extended my fence into to a road reserve. The demarcations on the title are very clear and they have never been extended. The road reserve has not been tampered with and the tree nursery bed is still there,” he said.

The commission of inquiry investigating corruption in Kampala city on Wednesday heard that Col. Kyanda and the Kampala Central Division chairman, Godfrey Nyakaana, encroached on a road reserve at Kira Road roundabout.

The probe was told that Kyanda extended his compound into the reserve that also accommodates electricity cables and water sewage pipes. Kyanda also denied he had bought land from Nyakaana.
