EMMANUEL Cardinal Wamala has advised Ugandans at home to work hard like those in the diaspora instead of waiting for the prosperity-for-all funds (Bonna Bagaggawale).

“Bonna Bagaggawale will only benefit people who work hard. God created land and if you use it wisely, you can prosper,” he said.

Wamala, who was recently in the United States where he was hosted by Ugandans, noted that it was good to have more than one income-generating activity.

“Those in the diaspora have more than three jobs and always keep time unlike their counterparts here,” he noted.
Wamala urged Christians to believe in the power of prayers.

“Many sufferings being experienced nowadays are due to lack of deep evangelisation right from our homes,” he observed.

He called upon parents to ensure that their children grow up spiritually so that they become responsible citizens.

The Cardinal said this during a mass at St. Anthony sub-parish, Entebbe. This was in commemoration of St. Anthony, the patron of the sub-parish church.

The Minister of State for Tourism, Serapio Rukundo, attended the mass at which a fundraising ceremony for the completion of churches at Bugonga, Kigungu was conducted. Over sh5m was raised.

Rukundo praised the Cardinal for supporting Christians politically.
“I was timid when I had just joined politics because many people always refer to it as a dirty game. Cardinal Wamala supported me and I managed to stand firm,” the minister revealed.
