KITGUM - THE mayor, Richard Ojara Okwera, has appealed to the Urban Authorities Association of Uganda (UAAU) to petition Parliament to reinstate the urban tender board.

He said the move would speed up procurement and delivery of services in the urban areas.

“The district contracts committee does not award contracts in time and procurement takes long due to beauracracy. We need the intervention of Parliament,” Ojara said while opening UAAU’s executive committee meeting at Bomah Hotel in Kitgum, recently.

He said Kitgum Town Council has all the requirements to become a municipality.
