STANBIC Bank and The New Vision have donated Primary Leaving Examination textbooks to boost academic performance in three schools in Rukungiri district.

The donation was handed over by the bank’s branch manager, Rukungiri, Fred Kamugisha, during the meeting of the headteachers for both private and government-aided schools at All Saints Church, Rukungiri recently.

“This is a clear manifestation that Stanbic Bank values education. In Rukungiri, our major clients are teachers, so we recognise you for giving us business and when more children get education, we get more clients,” Kamugisha said.

“We are in partnership with The New Vision on an education promotion campaign and you can get copies of these assorted revision books from the New Vision agents in Rukungiri.”

The schools which benefited from the donation include Katonya Primary School in Nyakishenyi, Kiganga in Nyarushanje, Rweshama in Bwambara and Masya in Nyakagyeme sub-county. They received a set of books for all examinable subjects.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, the headteacher of Kiganga Primary School, Julius Gumisiriza, thanked Stanbic Bank and The New Vision for promoting education in the district. He said the donation will put a positive impact on the schools that received the donation.
