WHAT should have been a night of fun may turn into a nightmare for a teacher in Mukono district. The Police are investigating circumstances under which a teacher of Kateete Primary School, only identified as Kiku, took part in a nude dancing orgy.

“I have sent the criminal investigations chief of Nagalama Police post to look into that matter,” said James Aurien, the district Police chief, yesterday.

“We want to know how the whole event started and the organisers.”

A beauty contest at Nakifuma centre took an obscene twist when scantily-dressed girls turned up on stage and started gyrating to the amusement of guests, who included Mike Wapamba, a district councillor.

Guests were later asked to join the stage as the girls peeled off their attire. Kiku was one of those who darted to the stage.

Bukedde, a sister newspaper to The New Vision, yesterday ran a picture of a smiling Kiku standing next to a scantily-dressed girl. His fingers were close to the girl’s groin.

Kiku sent a wrong signal to his pupils, Aurien said, adding that they could easily copy what he did.

The resident district commissioner, Deo Nsereko, said Kiku would be disciplined.
“We are going to meet the education officials to ensure that the teacher is reprimanded. He dented the district’s image.”

Nsereko said Wampamba, who was the chief guest at the show, would also be questioned by the council.
