FUFA AGM data not dispatched

THE delayed dispatch of a financial report to delegates will be a point of contention in tomorrow’s Federation of Uganda Football Associations general assembly.

THE delayed dispatch of a financial report to delegates will be a point of contention in tomorrow’s Federation of Uganda Football Associations general assembly, writes Vision Reporter.

Delegates out to pin FUFA’s executive argue that invitations to the assembly contravened the federation’s constitution. Article 18(e)i requires all documents relating to a general assembly to be dispatched 30 days before such meetings.

Super Division delegate Kavuma Kabenge is one of those who have slammed the procedure of the invitations. “This is a kiwani (fake) meeting. What are we going to discuss without studying the accounts or budget?” he wondered.

A July 10 letter to members said audited accounts were being finalised. But by yesterday, delegates were yet to be availed with a financial update.

Efforts to get comments from FUFA chief executive officer Charles Masembe and vice president (finance) Jowali Kyeyago were futile. Both didn’t answer phone calls.

Business starts at 9am at Jinja’s YWCA centre. The 14-point agenda includes a president’s report, a financial report, audited accounts for the previous year and budget estimates.

Only fully paid-up member associations will be allowed participation in the assembly.
