GTV, a new pay-TV in Kampala city, has handed over prizes to the winners of the just-concluded Gsports promotion with Capital FM listeners.

Aidah Nalwada, the Capital FM promotions manager, explained that listeners were required to answer questions in regards to sports and GTV and send answers to 197 to quality for the draw to a GTV decoder and other gift hampers.

“GTV is dedicated to give pay-TV a new life for their customers and the promotion is a way of thanking them and rewarding their loyalty,” said Nalwada.

Hundreds of local soccer fans have signed up for GTV because of its majority rights to broadcast the popular English Premiership League.

GTV’s three-year contract permits it to air 80% of the Premiership matches.

This gives the pay-TV eight top games out of 10 games every weekend.

The top eight games determine top of the table rankings, qualification for Europe and relegation.

DStv, another pay-TV, has rights to 20% of the games, while 10% of the games are for free-to-air stations like Nation TV.
