THERE were cheers, ululations and dancing last Friday night as the ‘President of the Republic of Uganja’ and local artiste Bobi Wine, endorsed Uganda Waragi among his fans in Kamwokya.

The UG mix a million promotion was officially launched at Kamwokya Centre. An overly elated Bobi Wine prompted his crowd with the line, “Uganda Wa…., to which they replied “Na Loâ€. Together with his ‘cabinet ministers’ Nubian Li and Buchaman, they sampled of UG before performing for their fans.
The fans scrambled for the popular local gin with a rich national heritage. If what transpired on the night is anything to go by, waragi lovers will finally afford to ‘mock’ pharmacists famed for mixing drugs. They, (waragi lovers) are only tasked with creatively mixing their favourite drink to win a million shillings each week!
For one to join the draw, they are tasked with buying Uganda Waragi from the 200ml per bottle, (which accords them one coupon) to the 750ml bottle (gives five coupons) fill them in and drop them in the ‘Mix a Million box’ for the weekly draws.
Sandor Walusimbi, the Uganda Waragi marketing manager, could only smile as the Ghetto residents heeded the president’s call.
