UGANDA Land Commission chief Mayanja Nkangi has refuted minister Baguma Isoke’s allegations that he created bitterness between Bunyoro and Buganda kingdoms.

“These are issues that began about 50 years ago. I feel hurt when ministers propagate bitterness. You can’t say a Mukiga should strictly stay in their home area, and likewise for all tribes. If you take what the minister said here, just where are we heading?” Nkangi asked.

He was testifying before the commission of inquiry into Bunyoro issues, chaired by Ruth Mukama, at the Ministry of Works Training Institute in Kyambogo, Kampala on Wednesday.

He added, “Banyoro should try not to be too sensitive. Jesus said those who live by the sword, will die by the sword. I would say don’t fight at all. If you do, reconcile. But you cannot say, you will tell your children about what their grandparents did, that’s not good,” he said.

Nkangi said there was need for the Omukama and the Kabaka to meet and sort out the differences of both regions.
On Monday, Isoke told the probe commission that the Baganda had committed worse atrocities on the Banyoro than Kony was doing in northern Uganda.
