KAMPALA mayoral candidate John Kulubya has pledged to set up day-care centres in Kampala markets to look after market vendors’ children.
Addressing supporters in Bwaise on Friday, Kulubya said the centres would encourage children who are brought up from markets to study in stead of joining business at an early stage.

RDC orders

KAMPALA RDC Stanley Kinyata has directed the Police and other security organisations to arrest people found defacing candidates’ posters.
Addressing journalist at his office on Friday, Kinyata said it was illegal to tear down posters, adding that it could attract seven years in prison if one is convicted.

EC urges

THE Electoral commission (EC) has asked independent candidates for the parliamentary elections to submit their symbols to be used on the ballot papers.
EC chief Badru kiggundu yesterday said they had provided a list of symbols for independents contesting for local government seats, from which they will choose one and submit to district returning officers.
The symbols for both categories are needed by tomorrow, Kiggundu said.
