RETIRED prize fighter Godfrey Nyakana has described Badru Lusambya as a potential world champion who will easily crush Zimbabwean Farai Musiiwa at Nakivubo stadium tomorrow.

Nyakana said that much as the fight will be staged in a war memorial stadium, he couldn’t see any serious opposition in Musiiwa.

“Lusambya is very talented and strong. I don’t expect a miracle from Zimbabwe. He knows we expect results and not excuses so there is no doubt he will deliver results,” said Nyakana.

Nyakana, a director in Big Strikers International who are promoting the fight, promised Lusambya sh0.5m for what he described as “a sure win.”

Lusambya is now aiming further than his African title. A win tomorrow will be a further boost on the WBC rankings where he is currently 19th at welterweight.

Nyakana predicted that Lusambya, who has won all his 11 fights, 10 of which by knock-out, will be undefeated in 20 fights at the end of this year.

“Ugandans are very good people who will treat you well wherever you go apart from the boxing ring. Lusambya is a potential world champion,” Nyakana said.

There will be joint weighing today at Nakivubo Stadium’s parking lot.

Under-cards to the fight will feature bantamweight's Emmy Iga versus Yazambia Seguya, super bantam Festus Omondi v Muzei, feather- Stephen Vula v Mudu Nsubuga.
