Katushabe’s anger is vented on wrong people

SIR — Nesta Katushabe’s article “Why have women activists ignored Kyakuwa” is unreasonable.

SIR — I wish to comment on Nesta Katushabe’s article “Why have the women activists ignored Kyakuwa?” published on january 24. Katushabe is angry with activists whom she thinks don’t mind about Joanita Kyakuwa’s case. I would like to remind Nesta that those women activists are learned and know the law. There is now way they can comment on a case that is already in court. She herself writes of Joanita Kyakuwa as “the woman Kizza Besigye allegedly” raped several times. Nesta should devise other means of expressing her anger for the people who blocked the acting of the Vagina Monologues.

SIR — Nesta Katushabe’s article “Why have women activists ignored Kyakuwa” is unreasonable.

What does she want Dr. tamale and Mrs matembe to do? To condemn Besigye for raping Kyakuwa when it has not been established that he did? what has she done herself for Kyakuwa?

Katushabe seems to have replaced Justice Katutsi and decided in advance that Besigye is guilty!
