THE State is still investigating seven former staff of the Uganda Human Rights Commission, charged with causing financial loss of sh212m.

State prosecutor Jane Musementa on Friday told the Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate, Margaret Tibulya, that they were still investigating John Mutuma, an accountant, Edward Ssebagala, the human resource manager and Victoria Nannozi, a secretary, Robert Kiranda and Saidi Maganda both drivers, Joseph Isabirye, a records officer and Godfrey Busuwa, an accountant.

They are facing charges of abuse of office and causing financial loss. They denied the charges. They were arrested in connection with approving extra salaries and fraudulently authorising payments to nine other employees.
