Hajat Minsa Kabanda, a contestant for the LC3 woman councillor for Kisenyi II parish, has gone missing, reports Madinah Tebajjukira. The Police on Tuesday night found her car, a dark-grey Mercedez Benz UAD 277N, abandoned on Ring Road in Lubiri, said Sam Pokot, the Old Kampala Police chief. Relatives said she disappeared on Monday after leaving her Doctor’s clinic in Kisenyi at 11:00pm. Kabanda, the incumbent, has been the treasurer for Kampala Central. Her husband, Sulaiman Kabanda, reported her disappearance to the Police on Tuesday morning after attempts to call her cell phone were futile. Pokot said anyone with information on the NRM candidate’s whereabouts could call 999, 0772-551208, 112 or 0772-508044.

Student faces posters case

A student of Pope Paul SS in Gulu appeared before the Chief magistrate’s Court on Tuesday over charges of defacing President Museveni’s campaign poster. Denis Abu, 18, denied the charges and was released on bail. He will reappear in court on February 17. He was arrested by UPDF soldiers on Monday night on Aliker Road in Gulu town and handed over to the Police.
