The DP presidential candidate, John Ssebaana Kizito’s convoy was yesterday involved in an accident after it rammed into a military roadblock on the Adjumani-Gulu road.

Ssebaana, who was travelling in the same vehicle with the former party president, Paul Ssemogerere, escaped unhurt but delayed the journey for four hours because his Police escorts’ vehicle was damaged.

No one was hurt although the most affected vehicle was carrying five policemen and four UPDF soldiers.
Ssebaana was on his way to Kitgum and Pader districts after holding a morning rally in Adjumani town.

The convoy had four vehicles. A witness said Ssebaana’s drivers had not seen the logs that the UPDF soldiers had placed across the road at Dzaipi, about 20km from Adjumani town.

“There was no sign post to show that there was a roadblock and yet the road is too dusty for one to see ahead,” a driver said.
