INDEPENDENT parliamentary candidate for Tingey County in Kapchorwa district Dr. Stephen Chebrot is to give out free chicken to voters.

Chebrot, the incumbent MP, said he had chosen the cock as his symbol for campaigns and sign for identification on the ballot paper. He said every village in the constituency would receive chicken.

He said the cock symbolised the unity and peace between the Bagisu and Sabiny in his constituency, adding that he fought hard for the two communities to unite and live in harmony.

“During my campaigns that kick off tomorrow (Thursday), I will give out chicken to my supporters in each and every village. It is not bribery but a way of making the voters to know my symbol on the ballot paper,” Chebrot said.

He bought about 200 chickens from Mbale main market.
