FROM the offices of The Broadcast Forum, we hear that the chairperson and founder member of the forum Desree Barlow has quit. Barlow has cited the need to concentrate on her public relations career, her online studies and other private interests.

One of the highlights of The Broadcast Forum was the disappearance of one of their executive members, Lynn Musitwa, who disappeared in December 2005 and her whereabouts have since not been known. Meanwhile other questions are being asked.

At an award ceremony last November at the Sheraton Hotel, Nkinzi Kaggwa on behalf of Straight Talk won the Community Awareness Award and a prize of Sh1m. Although Nkinzi is no longer at Straight Talk, Straight Talk forfeited the money to her.

At first Barlow told Nkinzi that her cheque had bounced. Then she claimed her committee was busy and so on. Then she claimed she had to follow it up with Straight Talk to confirm that they had forfeited the money (she has never contacted any of the directors).

Now the people at Straight Talk think Nkinzi ate the dime.
