ARTISTE STARTS PROJECT TO BOOST GOSPEL MUSIC
Although he has not been in the ministry for long, artiste Denis Lanek, 18, believes Gospel music is at its lowest standard and Gospel artistes do not get enough support from Christians. In an attempt to promote Gospel music and artistes, Lanek has started a five-hour Gospel Jam session at Namirembe Road’s Lumas Club, which will take place every Sunday at 3:00pm.
Lanek says the jam session will give Gospel artistes exposure and help Christians to spend their leisure time constructively.

Club Silk MUSIC to BE AIRED live on Hot 100 FM
Club Silk and Hot 100 FM, the new radio station that caused a stir with semi-dressed girls promoting it, are collaborating in a new theme nite. The theme nite, which will replace the TFI Nite that has been running every first Friday of the month at Silk, will commence on March 3. “We are going to have a live feed of all the music played in Club Silk on Hot 100 FM from 10:00pm to midnight,” said Andrew Kaffoko, Club Silk’s marketing manager. He said they will play hot R&B, hip-hop, dancehall and reggaeton.

Munyenga fed up of RECORDING albums
During a recording session at the No-end Entertainment Studios last Saturday, Winnie Munyenga said she would not release multi-track albums anymore. Reason? Her latest album Tonkaddiya was largely a flop; having failed to sell a mere 1,000 copies for all the three months it has been on market. Music promoters all over town have resented selling the CDs and audiotapes because Munyenga refused to let go of the album’s copyright. In effect, she is not getting the tremendous airplay she had hoped for nor even the invitations for concerts. Now Munyenga says that it is more profitable to release chart-bursting singles and earn out of concerts.
