UGANDA Electricity Transmission Company (UETC) is mobilising donations for people who lost property following a fire outbreak in Padibe Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Kitgum district.

UETC principal administration officer S.N. Luyombo asked the company staff to contribute anything they could for the IDPs.

He said their managing director had approved sh2m for the victims.

About 34,036 IDPs lost property during the inferno on Tuesday.

“I appeal to all staff to bring hope to the people in padibe camp by providing financial, physical and material donations such as blankets, clothes, shoes, sandals, cups, plates, soap, etc,” Luyombo said.

He said they would hand over the relief donations after all contributions have been collected.
