The PAM Award 2006 kicked off with steam at The Venue at Garden City on Thursday evening.
Awards chairman Isaac Mulindwa said the awards would cease to be a Ugandan thing only. “We are introducing the PAM Awards in Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.
Each of those countries will provide best male and female artiste of the year. This year’s PAM Awards will be sponsored by Bell Lager and Celtel.
AT the function, MC Remmy Lubega unleashed a new dance troupe called Infinity Dancers, who executed some tight routines.
Fina Mugerwa (Masanyalaze) was at her electrical best as were VIP, Lyrical G, Sweet Kid, Halima Namakula and Menton Krono.
The night was stolen by clownish Ragga Dee who breezed on stage dressed in army fatigues and wearing a Saddam Hussein Mask.
Jose Chameloene also captivated the audience with Maama Rhoda, Maoko na Maoko and Bomboklat to the joyous goings on of Bell, Tusker, Guiness, chicken legs and wings.
The only hitch some drunken journalists pointed out in lazy drawls was: “Ze beerz were too few.”
