Is Lukwago a cry baby?

Question: TB, this Erias Lukwago fellow, who is he and what is his claim to fame?
Well, to be honest, until a few weeks ago, I had never heard of him. His claim to fame though is shedding tears for the nation.

Shedding tears for the nation? What happened and how exactly did he wail?
I was not there when he wailed so I cannot tell you how loud he was. His wailing was a result of him getting a serious hitting from Godfrey Nyakana.

Are you telling me that Lukwago is a boxer? Where was the match held and in what round did Nyakana knock out Lukwago?
No, you are getting me wrong. Whilst Nyakana is a retired boxer, Lukwago is a politician who recently became MP-elect for Kampala Central Division. Between the two men, there is bad blood and that bad blood stems from a fight they had during the recently concluded LC3 elections.

Go on TB, spill the bwino.
Lukwago says that while in Kisenyi where he had gone to visit, Nyakana held him by the collar, tore his shirt and pushed him to the ground. He also says that Nyakana threw a punch at him, but he managed to dodge it.
At that point, Lukwago fled the scene and sought refuge in a nearby house.

Why didn’t he stand up to Nyakana? A man has to be a man and not a chicken. When the cowardly Lukwago sought refuge in the nearby house, was he trembling in fear?
I suspect he was. The cowardly Lukwago told people how he is a weak man. He said, “I am a weak man and can never go near that heavy weight man. Whenever I see him, I will always run away.”

Is Lukwago a cry baby?

Oh dear me. If Lukwago will flee on the mere sight of Nyakana, do you think he will also run for his life if he came across the likes of Kakooza Mutale and David Tinyefuza?
You have to understand that while a man is a man, within those men, there will also be boys. These boys will do susu in their pants at the first opportunity of trouble. Rather than standing their ground, they will run for their lives and when they run, they tend to hide behind the first woman they come across.

Are you telling us that it was a woman who came to the rescue of Lukwago?
That is exactly what I am saying! The hapless Lukwago fled the battleground and went and hid behind a lady called Hajati Hanifa Namuddu.

Dear me. Do you think it is right for men to go round hiding behind women’s skirts? And another thing, TB, is it proper for a man to announce to the nation that he is weak?
Of course, it is absolutely scandalous. You are not a man if you have to hide behind a woman’s skirt. And to go round telling the whole nation that you are a weak man is simply not on! I am sure that even Hajati Hanifa Namuddu, the woman whose skirt he hid behind, must have a low opinion of him. Lukwago should have stood his ground and taken the beating from Nyakana like a man.

Do you know if Lukwago is married and do you suppose that in his household, it is his wife who wears the trousers and calls the shots?
I am not too sure about Lukwago’s marital status, but I would imagine that if he is indeed married, when thieves come to the house, it is his wife and not him who goes to confront them. Remember, he did, after all, publicly declare that he is a weak man!
