Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is hosting a workshop on Internet development in the country, a statement has said.
The statement said Internet penetration in Uganda remains significantly low, with only a few people using it.
“In recognition of development opportunities available through use of the Internet, UCC is organising a workshop for Uganda’s Internet community, which includes the industry, users and the Government to identify strategies for fostering Internet development,†UCC’s executive director, Patrick Masambu, said.
The workshop will be at Fairway Hotel on March 24.
Results of a survey launched in October 2005 and carried out in Kampala, Jinja, Mbale, Lira and Mbarara will be presented.
