Kaberamaido — The Government has earmarked sh113m to educate orphans and vulnerable children in the district. The district focal person of the HIV/AIDS control project, George William Ebulu, said 44 community-based HIV/AIDS initiative groups would benefit from the programme. He said the money would also be used to provide material support to households affected by HIV/AIDS.

THE Sight Savers International has treated over 1,000 people with eye complications at Kaberamaido Health Centre IV in the new eye department that started operating on March 26.
Eye specialist Dr. Tukei Kamwoya said a team of health workers would soon start outreach programmes in sub-counties.

Orphans get

Adjumani district has received sh233m for orphans and vulnerable children.
District focal person Philip Kaya said in Gulu that part of the money was meant for tools for over 100 orphans in the sub-counties of Adropi and Ofua.
Kaya said the tools would help the children to earn income.
