UK scouts to build sh38m facility

A UK-based scouts group has started the construction of a classroom block at Kiseege Primary School in Kamuli district.<br>The sh38m facility will comprise an office, a store and five pit latrines.

A UK-based scouts group has started the construction of a classroom block at Kiseege Primary School in Kamuli district.
The sh38m facility will comprise an office, a store and five pit latrines.

East Sussex UK Scouts undertook to construct the facility for the school to improve its infrastructure.

Julian Sore who led the team said a memorandum of understanding was signed between the UK Uganda-Kamuli 2006 Expedition and Kamuli district that gave a go-head to the scouts to assist the poor school.

Pramukh contractors is building the facilities. Under this arrangement, another school lukotaime Primary School was built between 2003 and 2004.
The chief administrative officer George Kaizi hailed the partnership between the scouts and the district calling for its continuity to improve the education sector.

While touring the site, deputy speaker of parliament and Kamuli district Woman MP Rebecca Kadaga expressed gratitude for the project. She said Kiseege project was a gift to the district and asked the local community not to sabotage it.
