THE Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) is studying a file containing evidence against a married woman, who was allegedly nabbed with a Rwandan diplomat in a hotel in Entebbe recently.

Central regional CID chief Paul Katto yesterday said the file was sent on Friday.

Joyce Ngaiza was on April 2 arrested with the First Secretary at the Rwanda Embassy, John Ngarambe, at Windsor Hotel.

The arrest, which has ignited diplomatic and political tension between Uganda and Rwanda, followed suspicion from Ngaiza’s husband, Edmund Rugunda that his wife was unfaithful.

Mbarara-based businessman Rugunda trailed them from Bugolobi to Entebbe.

By press time, the DPP had not responded, the Police said. Sources said the Police was considering charging Ngaiza with adultery.

The Penal Code provides for a caution as a sentence for a woman first offender in a case of adultery.
