Nairobi — Six bodies in kenya’s plane crash remained unidentified and were flown to Nairobi yesterday after pathologists failed to identify them. president Mwai Kibaki led Kenyans in receiving the 14 bodies. A government spokesman, Alfred Mutua, said the bodies were yet to be identified ahead of the funeral that was due yesterday.

MP charged
KAMPALA — Rwampara county MP Amon Muzoora was yesterday charged with issuing a bounced cheque for sh22m. buganda Road Court magistrate Samuel Masaba heard that Muzoora issued the cheque to Zone Safaris in November at Bunga in Makindye Division. muzo-ora denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of sh500,000. Hearing of the case resumes on May 5.

KAMPALA — Security in the city and its suburbs will be increased to avert crime during the Easter celebrations, the Police have said. Banks, fuel stations and power installations are key areas where officers would be deployed, Kampala Extra Police boss Grace turyag-umanawe said yesterday. “There will be more foot and motorised patrols,” he said, adding that major highways would be covered.

NGO meet set
KAMPALA — President Yoweri Museveni will today meet NGO leaders at his home in Rwakitura, less than a week after Parliament passed the Non-Governmental organisation Registration (ame-ndment) Bill, 2001. Sources said Museveni called the meeting to discuss a report on northern Uganda, which the NGOs released recently. Gulu district NGO Forum coordinator Michael Otim confirmed he was invited.
