FEDERATION of Uganda Football Association president Lawrence Mulindwa has donated a trophy to Lango clans to be competed for. The president has also contributed sh1m to facilitate the soccer tournament. The coordinator, Rev Otto Olima said the president has scheduled to visit Lira to bring the trophy and launch the tournament officially on April 27.

Bloodshed and hurling of stones and insults marred the Soroti Coca-Cola post primary schools semi finals after Alliance High School silenced Soroti SS 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out after a gruelling goalless draw at Soroti Municipal Stadium. 15 students of Alliance were injured after Soroti students pelted them.

The Bishop for Madi and West Nile diocese, Joel Obetia has challenged the new FUFA leadership to plan for the upgrade of upcountry stadiums. Speaking at the prize awarding ceremony for the Arua Easter cup on Sunday, the Bishop said attractive pitches would support the identification of hidden talent.

Rock High School has qualified to represent Tororo district in the 2006 Coca Cola post primary schools football championship due at Kabalega SS in Masindi from April 28 to May 14. Rock High beat Mahanga High 5-1 in the boys final played at the municipal ground. Kampala’s Kibuli are the defending champions.
