THE Omukama of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, Solomon Gafabusa Iguru, has appointed new members of the Rukurato (parliament), reports Amlan Tumusiime.
The kingdom has been operating without the Rukurato for over two years since Iguru dissolved the former one, accusing it of being political.
Iguru sacked the entire Rukurato after its speaker, Ernest Kiiza, invited former External Security Organisation chief David Pulkol, a then anti-third term crusader and a critic of President Yoweri Museveni, as a guest at the Empango celebrations.
The Omukama’s press secretary, Henry Ford Mirima, said the new members were picked from Hoima, Masindi, Kibaale and Buliisa districts.
