SIR — I wish to comment on the representative of my constituency of Kyotera county. I congratulate Capt. Pius Mujjuzi upon his re-election to the 8th parliament although I was very surprised he won. In the 7th parliament we hoped Mujuzzi would be as vibrant as Patrick Kiggundu who unfortunately was incapacitated by an accident.

The media published the performance of the 7th Parliament MPs by region and Mujuzzi came second last from the central region with only one contribution in a period of five years! In spite of this embarrassment, he offered himself to represent the constituency for another term. Luckily, because of the dominance of the NRM in the constituency, he won the election.

Personally, I was disappointed because I had already assessed him a non-performer but I have to respect the views of the people. I appeal to Mr. Mujuzzi to use this opportunity to demonstrate that something went wrong in the 7th Parliament by becoming more active in the 8th Parliament.

He should use his influence to improve the lives of his constituents because his constituency was badly affected by HIV/AIDS. We would like to read about his contributions in the media during Parliamentary proceedings.
