HENRY Malinga will be hoping to improve his scoring average in the Yello Go conference when Falcons take on Najja High in today’s MTN basketball league game at the YMCA court.
Arguably the best centre in Ugandan basketball, Malinga scored a team high 26 points during Falcons’ opening loss to Marines before lowering his goal average to 18 points the team’s victory over Livingstone last weekend, an average he hopes to improve today.
Malinga will also look to eclipse his amazing feat of last November, when he collected 14 points, 6 blocks against the Kenya national team that saw him scoop the top scorer’s accolade during the East, Central and Southern Africa basketball tournament in Kampala.
Although Malinga will be on their side, Falcons go into today’s game weary of Najja High that shockingly defeated giants Marines, Rhinos and KIU last season and could just as well surprise them.
Meanwhile, Miracle basketball club takes a trip to Gulu to play Murchison Hawks at the Caribbean courts as Berkeley High school also treks to the Jinja for the game against Flammers.
