HERMAN Mutawe and Joseph Mawejje have the best opportunity to claim a maiden title this season at the Shell Helix Golf Open at the par-71 Jinja Club course.

The fourth Uganda Golf Union (UGU) event is due this weekend.

Mutaawe and Mawejje are the leading favourites at the event in the absence of nine key rivals.
“This is a great chance for me to win and I am ready for the battle,” Mutaawe remarked.

The absentees are in the national team at the Zone Six championship in Swaziland. The team includes winners of the three union events held so far.

Dickson Lagoro won the Crane Bank Kigezi Open, Stephen Birungi was hero of the Mbarara Open after George Olayo took the season-opening Bro Group Western Open.

Mutawe finished third while Mawejje was sixth overall at the Western Open in Fort Portal.
