RIYAZ Kurji and his younger brother, Nawaz crashed out of the KCB Quick Serve Eldoret rally on Sunday that was won by KCB Safari rally winner Azar Anwar in a dramatic finish, beating compatriot Lee Rose by a second.
Riyaz and Sayed Kadri in Subaru Impreza N8, rolled at the SS3 19.95km Chebiemit-Elgeyo stage as he went into a slow left corner too fast. He had again rolled near the same place last year.
He was lying in second position at the time behind Rose of Kenya.
None of them was injured although the car was slightly damaged in the morning mishap that caught his fans by surprise after being given a warm send off in Eldoret town in second position.
Nawaz, making a debut in the event was not lucky either. Co-driven by Jeff Kabagambe in Subaru Impreza N10, the Ugandan only managed one loop of four sections before returning his vehicle to the park with gearbox problem, for which he had no replacement.
