KIBAALE — The African Rural University (ARU) for women, the first of its kind, has been launched in Kagadi town council. the chairperson of the national NGO board, Joyce Mpanga, said at the launch recently that the university would help increase the number of learned women in the country.

Graft fight
KABAROLE — Fort Portal mayor Edson Ruyonga has said the municipality will fight against corruption in the next five years. He said there would not be development unless corruption was tackled. He was speaking after swearing in at Heart Beat conference Hall on Tuesday.

MBARARA — The district council on Monday threw a party to bid farewell to outgoing chairperson Fred Kamugira, who had served two terms. He had wanted to join the 8th Parliament as Kashari MP but lost the race in the NRM party primaries.
