DJ Michael’s latest release, Omwana, is an impressive effort and it is currently receiving ample radio airplay.

The seven-track album has so far spawned two major radio hits — the title track, Omwana and Gwempaana. Omwana features joint production efforts of Isaac Katerega of Hypercom studios and Jose Chameleone from his Leone Island studios.

Now, DJ Michael is set to launch the album on Sunday, May 28 at Imperial Resort Beach in Entebbe.

After listening to Omwana, you realise that DJ Michael has gone through a musical metamorphosis. His vocal ability has improved, while his lyrical content is mature.

Omwana has certainly drawn more fans of DJ Michael. This explains why he has recently been getting several offers to perform at concerts in Kampala and upcountry.

The title track, Omwana, is a collaboration with Lady Shaniz, an upcoming artiste. The dancehall/Afro beat fused track revolves around the woes of a woman who has been forsaken by her husband. To many women, her cry to be pardoned is very touching. The song has captivating beats that will get any fan onto the dance floor.

In my opinion, Gwempaana is DJ Michael’s best work in his musical career that spans five years.

The artistic intro, the subtlety of the piano, the irresistibly catchy beats and the prominence of the saxophone are the strongholds of this track.

The song is supported by an incredibly heavy bass line and hooks that fans can easily identify with. In the song, Michael welcomes back his fiancée, who he hadn’t seen for quite sometime.
