Kyanjo complains
The Eighth Parliament should fight nepotism, corruption and unemployment for the country to develop economically, Makindye West MP Hajji Hussein Kyanjo has said. “Most jobs in the civil service, security agencies, the army up to the LCs are offered to a particular group of people, as if others from different regions lack the qualifications. we in the 8th Parliament need to fight this disease,” Kyanjo said after being sworn in as Makindye West MP at Katwe on Sunday. Well, those in a position to do something about it had better react.

Muliika talks tough
Buganda Katikkiro Dan Muliika has no kind wards for politicians who mix politics with development.
“If we want to maintain cleanliness and development for Kampala city, we have to be in a good administrative system by electing competent cabinet leaders irrespective of tribe, religion, sex or political affiliations,” he said. Muliika was presiding over the
swearing-in ceremony of LC 111 Kawempe division chairman, Nasser Kibirige Takuba at Kolping Hotel at Bwaise on Friday.

Grateful Mukula
Outgoing state minister for health Mike Mukula has asked Baganda to be patient over their Federo demands, suggesting dialogue could yield something. “Baganda are my good in-laws. they gave me a good muganda wife. I know if any government wants to be on good terms with Buganda, it has to please them first. There is nobody who can’t change his mind except a dead one. the central government and the NRM, through dialogue, may settle out the issue of the regional tier in Buganda,” Mukula said. He was addressing Kyambogo Nkoba Zambogo youth at the campus on sunday.

Nankabirwa warned
FDC leader Dr. Kizza Besigye has cautioned the outgoing state defence minister Ruth Nankabirwa that the government may not re-appoint her as a minister because she was sitting near him. “Government may not include you on the ministerial posts. there are so many spies watching me whenever i am talking to any government official or whenever I am sitting next to any influential government person,” Besigye said. He said many government officials fear to sit near him and even withdraw money from any bank for any assistance if a cheque is signed by him. This was at the swearing-in party for Lubaga North MP Beti Kamya on Sunday at Kasubi.
