JUNIOR Kwebiiha foiled a galant Castle XI with a bowling performance that gave Africa CC a narrow 12 run win in their first tie of the Mawanda Cup yesterday.

The medium pacer, who had been dismissed for duck earlier at the Entebbe oval, made up by claiming six wickets, including that of Castle’s top scorer David Meya (53).

Castle faltered at 137 with 16 overs at hand. ACC’s batting earlier left them in trouble, with Kenneth Kamyuka (18) Charles Lwanga (00) and Arthur Kyobe (05) out of sorts as they struggled to 149 runs.

At Kyambogo, Joshua Mwanja was on form with a perfect 116 runs off 109 balls as Wanderers thumped new comers Rounders CC by 251 runs.

Contributions from Denis Musali (23) and Hamza Saleh (26) ensured Wanderers set Rounders a massive 315 runs to win.
Tornado B also notched a 67 run victory over Patidar at Lugogo with man-of-the-match Emmanuel Kibirango glittering with the ball and bat.

After his 22 with the bat, Kibirango returned bowling figures of 3-28.
In Jinja Roger Mukasa regained his form with a quick 64 runs as Nile edged JACC by 10 runs.
