By Norman Katende CECAFA Club Champions Police FC will be treated to a state dinner at State House Nakasero this Friday, team manager Asani Kasingye has confirmed.

The team was received by Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura on arrival at Entebbe Airport and were originally to have been hosted last week.

Police beat Tanzanian club Moro United in Dar es Salaam to win the trophy for the first time and a $30,000 cash prize. Police are coached by Sam Timbe.

Meanwhile, the different stakeholders in the Police recruitment section are still studying the mode of recruitment of the Police FC players and officials after Kayihura declared the entire team members of the Police Force.

“The new rule on recruitment by the Inspector General gives powers to the person being recruited to either sign a contract or be recruited on permanent staff,” Kasingye explained.

“They are still studying this and I think it will be finalised by the end of this week.”
