Kabushenga was right on leaders

I wouldn’t however place those ills on our political leaders alone. Such ills have also spread like a malignant cancer to organisational heads who have, with impunity taken it upon themselves to squander public funds.

The global fund scandal is one such example. Many organisations are at the brink of collapse simply because of such heads who have put their personal interests above everything else.

President Yoweri Museveni’s ‘Bona Bagagawale’ programe is welcome.

However, micro- finance institutions and community-based organisations which are to serve as fronts for this programme should select heads with integrity.

Serving donors diligently and selflessly will not only act as an incentive for more disbursement, but will ultimately benefit people at all levels. Integrity must be the key word if the ‘Bona Bagagawale’ project is to succeed.
