THE Gatsby Scholarship Foundation is offering 16 scholarships for undergraduate engineering programmes tenable at Makerere University.

THE Gatsby Scholarship Foundation is offering 16 scholarships for undergraduate engineering programmes tenable at Makerere University.

Amos Olal Odur, the academic registrar, said in a circular that the eligible applicants should be Ugandans, not more than 25 years of age and direct entrants from A’ level. They should be from a poor background, not beneficiaries of government-sponsorship or any other scholarships and must have applied and hope to be admitted under the private sponsorship scheme.

The eligible fields of study include: bachelors of science in civil, electrical, mechanical and telecommunications engineering; architecture; surveying; construction management; land economics and quantity surveying.
Application forms are available at the academic registrar’s department, Room 303, Senate Building, Makerere University.

Details about the scholarships are also available at the university website: www.makerere.ac.ug. The closing date for receiving applications is July 14, 2006.
