THIS year’s FUFA general assembly will be held in Mbarara August 19, reports Norman Katende.

FUFA media committee head Rogers Mulindwa yesterday told the press at Mengo that the executive committee decided the date and venue at a meeting prior to the briefing.

“The delegates are expected in Mbarara on August 18 and will depart August 20,” Mulindwa noted.

The same weekend will see Mbarara host the senior one-to-two football tournament for boys and girls born after January 1991. Zones will enter two boys and one girls’ teams at the event.”

FUFA, meanwhile, wants t o amend the constitution to take full charge of all football matches in the country – a role currently limiting them to the national league and Kakungulu cup.

Mulindwa announced the arrival of $165,000 (sh298m) from FIFA to be used on football development programmes.
