SHELL Uganda has slashed prices for Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) following a VAT waiver.

Halima Besisira, the external affairs manager, said this week that the cuts were effective July 1, when the new government policy for VAT exclusion on LPG came into force.

Besisira said the retail prices for the six kilogramme pack will now go for sh18,000, down from sh21,000, while a 15-kilogramme pack will sell at sh43,000 from sh51,000.

The 45-kilogramme pack now goes for sh123,000, down from sh147,000.
Besisira said the prices do not exactly tally with the 18% VAT waiver due to some elements in the “price build-ups.”
