THE Conservative Party (CP) youth wing has defended John Ken Lukyamuzi as the legitimate party president general.

Spokesman George Ntambaazi refuted allegations by James Sekagya that the party had disowned Lukyamuzi as its chief executive.

“Disowning Lukyamuzi is an insult to the CP Young Conservatives, the party and the nation,” he said.

Ntambaazi, during a press conference at Speke Hotel in Kampala on Tuesday, was reacting to an article in The New Vision of July 10, ‘CP disowns Lukyamuzi as president’.

In a statement on Saturday, Sekagya, referred to as the party’s vice-chairman of the Life Members’ Committee and also deputy party patron, said former Makindye West MP Nsubuga Nsambu was the legitimate president until the national council elections are held.

“Who is Sekagya in the party? Where does he get the moral authority to speak for CP? This is open impersonation,” Ntam-baazi said.
