CELLULAR phone company Celtel last week wound up the eastern region textbooks deliveries under its “Build Our Nation” programme. “Build Our Nation” is a Celtel community investment programme for education in Africa.

Last month, the communication company donated books worth $9,000 (about sh18m) to nine schools in eastern region.
Yesse Oenga, the managing director, said the initiative aims to provide teaching aids to schools.

“Eastern was the first region for textbooks delivery. The next delivery is proceeding to northern Uganda to immediately support primary schools there.

“As Celtel continues to improve its mobile phone services all over Africa, it has not forgotten its brand of “Making Life Better,” Oenga said.

The textbooks will be given to schools across the country.
