ST Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) defied the odds to lift the inaugural Dam Waters schools 7s main cup after beating St Lawrence Creamland campus 19-0 in the final on Saturday.

Felix Lubega and Paul Kabazi were the heroes with three tries and two conversions that killed the Creamland challenge in a day-long meet. 18 secondary schools where in action at the source of River Nile.

To reach the final, SMACK struggled with an extra time 12-7 victory against London College while Creamland beat former giants Kings College Budo 12-5 in the semifinals.

To underline their strength, SMACK thumped Lira-based Comboni College 35-0 before a sweet 19-0 victory over archrivals Namilyango College in the preliminaries.

In the plate, former schools giants Namilyango suffered a 12-14 upset by Hana Mixed School in a game that stretched to the wire.

Comboni College lifted the bowl while Namilyango’s team B, Tigons, lifted the shield.
