Need a state-of-the-art buying environment where you will not have to jostle through crowds to pick your ideal?

Try the Grand Imperial shopping arcade, hidden within the four-star hotel complex, just a short walk over the parking yard.

It houses more than 50 exclusive shops that sell everything from elite casual wear to bridal accessories, lingerie, cosmetics, gifts, men’s leather, inspirational books and CDs.

All goes at fair (even regular market) prices. The array of glass partitions allows you to do some adequate window-shopping even without popping in.

There may be a lot to choose from, but be sure to check out the collection at Cleopatra. This exclusive store offers not only bridal accessories, but also fancy heels, handbags, trinkets and jewellery, and all come with genuine designer labels that you can hardly get in town. The prices vary from sh45,000 for pearl necklaces to sh80,000 for genuine Nine West oversize leather bags that are in vogue these days.

If the streets are teeming with fake items, drop in at Divine Styles on the Grand Imperial shopping arcade for genuine Fossil watches, sunglasses, gifts and leather wallets for men.

These go for between sh25,000 and sh100,000. You can pick more of the men’s classy accessories upstairs.

Ladies who have a thing for Mary Kay cosmetics may still want to drop by Divine Styles. Here, a three-months’ set of soap, gel, lotions and powder goes for sh180,000 and more. But it comes along with professional make-up tips from Miria Blick, a celebrated beautician who also co-owns the store. She also lends out Christian books and inspirational CDs to clients.

Lulu’s lingerie offers a fantastic range of socks, boxer shorts, vests, pajamas, camisoles and G-strings. All come in delightful colours like white, purple, pink, lilac, orange and yellow and they go for between sh10,000 and sh65,000. This weekend, shop at Grand Imperial.
