POLICE FC are determined to keep the heat on URA FC with a string of convincing results in the hope the leaders might eventually crack under the strain.

Cops skipper David Yiga, ahead of his side’s home tie to sixth-placed Victor, pointed: “We are 100% still in contention of the league title. URA have difficult games to play and any slight slip up would lift us.”

The league defending champions trail the leaders by seven points but with a game in hand. Maximum points from their home games to Simba, KCC and away to Express could guarantee them the title but only if URA lose two of their remaining matches.

In Dan Walusimbi, Police possess a terrific forward, whose enthusiasm for the top scorer’s accolade, could undoubtedly see him and counterparts Mike Sserumaga, Peter Ssenyonjo a handful against any side .

However at Namboole, the trio’s poisonous touch in front of goal faces a Victor side with an ever-improving defensive record.

“The three are likely to start at once. With their kind of form, we strongly believe the title is still within our reach,” Yiga added.
Simba are away to bottom-placed Super Cubs in the other game at Wankulukuku.

Vodacom final
Kaizer Chiefs v Man Utd

David Obua and his Kaizer Chiefs colleagues get their second chance of registering a historic upset, when the Amakhosi entertain English giants Manchester United in the Vodacom Cup final today.

Chiefs swept through to the final after condemning rivals Orlando Pirates to a 2-0 defeat on Thursday, their fourth consecutive win over Pirates.

The South African side were unlucky to have lost 1-0 to the Premiership side in a game, they enjoyed possession, and always looked like scoring. Obua had an effort cleared off the line, and saw a shot hit the side netting.

This time, Kaizer Chiefs lead striker Shaun Bartlett and Obua sound certain that luck will not elude them. “Getting another go at United is good as we know what we are up against. We can play better and we will,” Bartlett stressed.
