If you are one of those people who have been fascinated by the word ‘bada’ in Bobi Wine’s latest hit, Omwana Wabandi, it is time for you to wonder no more.

Bobi Wine will tell his fans what the word means during his album launch at Hotel Equatoria tonight. He will also have another launch on Sunday at Gaba Beach.

“I will let my fans guess the meaning of ‘bada’ and whoever guesses right will get sh4m on the spot! If no one guesses right, the closest to the right answer will still take the money,” Bobi Wine said. Bobi Wine says that Bada is an abbreviation and B stands for Bobi Wine.

Fans will pay sh10,000 for the VIP show at Hotel Equatoria and sh5,000 for the Gaba Beach concert. The concerts will feature top Ugandan musicians like Julianna, Ragga Dee, Emperor Orlando, Bebe Cool, Sweet Kid, Silver Kyagulanyi, The Obsessions, Mega Dee, Mesach Semakula and Ronald Mayinja. It will also feature Kenya’s Redsan and Prezzo and Tanzania’s Dudubaya and Professor Jay.

With the success of Omwana Wabandi, Bobi Wine has proved a major pin-up to rival the very best in the land. He has emerged a musical icon; and is currently one of the hottest names in the Ugandan music industry.
Yet Omwana Wabandi is not just any release. It is a chart-topping phenomenon. Apart from the title track, the album has also spawned other radio hits like Adam ne Kaawa, a duet with Nubian Li and Kabaseke. The album was recorded from the Kamwokya-based Dream Studios.

Adam ne Kaawa puts Dancehall Reggae music’s essentials into a unique and sensuous formula. It is a tasteful take on what dancehall reggae music is all about. But the fact that the singers sound more like Chaka Demus and Pliers back in the mid-1990s is one of the low points of the song. Adam ne Kaawa and Omwana Wabandi will certainly get Bobi Wine many PAM Awards nods this year.
