Within a few months, Mariam Namukasa’s Tindatiine has become a major hit on FM radios.

Twenty-year-old Namukasa now earns her living by plaiting hair at Nam Salon at Kabwohe in Bushenyi District.
However, before she concentrated on the salon business, Namukasa first worked with Mbarara-based Romax Band before it split up to form Rays Band. As she worked in the salon, Namukasa composed six tracks of which Tindatiine was the first.

Namukasa always gets standing ovations from crowds whenever she performs Tindatiine, the title track of her six-track album. The song is so natural and so is her voice. The song is a blend of traditional rhythm and dancehall beat, which makes it sound nice and whoever listens to it gets impressed.

Tindatiine is a confession of true love. In the song, a girl tells her partner that he is free to take her wherever he wants and do whatever he wants with her. The message is delivered in a nice and beautiful voice that is blended with splendid instrumentals.

In western Uganda, the track is in the number one position on many FM radio countdown charts.

Other songs on the album are; Obusingye Omumaka, Rukundo Yompaire, Yasemera and Katwehemu, which are all sung in Runyankole. Her sixth track, Nzewuwo, is sung in Luganda, but maintains her style.

Yasemera is in form of Ankole traditional dance, ekitaguriro, and normally forces fans to the floor whenever it is played.

Although Namukasa is a creative singer, she needs to improve on her performance.
